KALIDASA DAY

Kalidasa is the greatest Sanskrit literate his 7 works, Abhidnyanashakuntalam, Vikramorvasheeyam, Malavikagnimitram, Kumarsambhavam, Raghuvansham, Rutusanharam, Meghadootom, have not only been admired by Indian Sanskrit Literate but also the European Scholars. Meghadootam is one of the immortal works by mahakavikalidas. Kalidasa is remembered on the 1^st day of Ashadha because of his work Meghadootam. Kalidasa Day is celebrated on the 1^st Day of Ashadha.

The Dept. of Sanskrit and Vidarbha Sahitya Sangha Nagpur celebrate Kalidasa Day through MOU between them. Kalidasa is world poet. To honor this great Sanskrit Scholar and to instill Sanskrit temper among students we celebrate Kalidasa Day.

SANSKRIT DAY

Sanskrit Language is an ancient language. Our culture is originated from this language. To develop admiration among common people and to protect Sanskrit Language, Sanskrit day is celebrated on Shravan Pournima every year. Education Ministry under Indian Govt., in 1969 commanded to celebrate Sanskrit day at central and State level on Shravan Pournima. The reason for celebrating Sanskrit Day on Shravan Pourniam is because in ancient India educational session used to start from this particular day. In this Sanskrit Program, we organize Inter college debet competition, Group discussion, Extermpore etc.

GUEST LECTURE

Department of Sanskrit organized guest lecture according to the Syllabus of BA-I,II,III and B.Com – I, II. To develop interest in Sanskrit and enhance their knowledge, to tell the relevance of Sanskrit in present day, every year Dept. of Sanskrit invites experts to deliver lecture.

WORKSHOP 

Department of Sanskrit organizes various types of workshops for students, teachers and all people who are interested to attend the workshop. In this workshop we make them aware of Indian culture through Sanskrit Language. We also teach them how to Speak basic level Sanskrit.

STUDY PROGRAM

Through this program we teach Student to speak Sanskrit.
