Our History
The C.P. & Berar Education Society, founded in pre-independence days i.e. 1930, in fact represents the dreams & aspirations of Late G. S. Gokhale and Late M. N. Kagbhat. These two were then young and inspired teachers, who instead of serving the British Government, nurtured a dream of setting up a model school and thereby served the society. The Central Provinces & Berar Education society, which is one of the premier prestigious institutions in Nagpur &Vidarbha, has completed 85 years of its fruitful existence. The C.P. & Berar E.S. College was established in 1960. During the last 62 years it has rendered glorious service to the entire Vidarbha by catering to the educational needs of not only local students but students from surrounding rural areas as well.

The college is centrally located & affiliated to R.T.M. Nagpur University, Nagpur. The college works through democratic decision making mechanism like Governing body &College Development Committee. The administration is supported by various committees like Admission committee, Research committee, Library committee, Women cell, Placement committee, Extracurricular activities committee, to name a few.
The college runs 11th, 12th, U.G., P.G. and advanced research programmes like M.Phil. The college has huge library with a comprehensive collection of books.It also offers Wi-Fi internet facility, a huge play ground, strong ICT support like computers, lap-tops, printers, TV, LCD projectors, Digital smart board etc. are made available. Since 1962 the college is publishing a student centric magazine titles SAHITYA SADHNA. The editorial board of the same is formed by students and the staff members help them to edit, collect and publish their articles and related literature. This magazine is the outcome of excellent team work of our students.
The sports Department of the college is renowned and over a period of time it haswon many state and national level honorsfor the institute. It has produced players, coaches and administrators of state and national repute. The college has excelled in cultural activities/ programmes.Under its Lecture Series in Memory of Founding Fathers the college organizes 4 lectures every year for the benefit of students, teachers and society.The college has always remained ahead in social activities through NCC, NSS & Women’s cell. The college also runs centre for rehabilitation of alcoholics – “Alcoholic Anonymous”.
The college undertakes Remedial coaching for needy students. The College also runs a study center for YCM Open University, Nasik for the benefit of employed students, with UG and PG programmes. We have an active placement cell with excellent track record, in order to assist our students in getting placements. In addition to this we have ED (Entrepreneurship Development) Cell, for helping the students in self-employment. It is a matter of pride for us that our alumni have excelled in various walks of life and always responds to the call by their Alma Mater.
The college has been recognized as the Place for higher Learning and Research by the RTM Nagpur university, for research pursuits of registered Ph.D. Scholars.
The college publishes an annual national level research journal named SANSHODHAN with ISSN 2249-8567 for multidisciplinary studies.
The college publishes an annual Student research journal named INSPIRE with for Commerce Students.
The College organizes a Seven days (One week) National level workshop on Research Methodology every year.
Our faculties members arehighly qualified, highly experienced are acclaimed by students. Faculty Development Programmes are conducted as per need for faculty improvement.
