Extracurricular Programme Committee

Introduction

The Extra-curricular Programme Committee of C.P. & Berar E.S. College, Nagpur, has been constituted to facilitate holistic student development beyond the academic framework. The committee is dedicated to promoting creativity, leadership, communication abilities, and overall personality development among students. By organizing a wide range of cultural, literary, social, and sports activities, the committee aims to enrich the educational experience and contribute to a vibrant campus life. In alignment with NAAC and IQAC quality benchmarks, the committee functions with a structured approach to planning, implementing, and documenting all co-curricular and extra-curricular initiatives.

Need and Purpose of Formation

The formation of the Extra-curricular Committee serves the following purposes:

  • Encouraging student participation in diverse cultural, literary, artistic, and sports activities.
  • Identifying and nurturing individual talents and skills among students.
  • Providing platforms for developing leadership, team spirit, and interpersonal communication.
  • Ensuring systematic and well-coordinated execution of all extra-curricular programmes in the college.
  • Aligning all activities with university norms and NAAC/IQAC guidelines to enhance student enrichment and institutional quality.

Vision / Aim

To create an inclusive, dynamic, and student-centric environment that promotes holistic growth through meaningful and engaging extra-curricular activities conducted throughout the academic year.

Objectives of the Extra-curricular Committee

  1. To plan, coordinate, and monitor extra-curricular and co-curricular programmes in the college.
  2. To promote cultural, sports, literary, and social awareness activities among students.
  3. To encourage student participation at college, university, state, and national levels.
  4. To provide opportunities for students to develop leadership, confidence, teamwork, and presentation skills.
  5. To collaborate with various departments, clubs, and committees for integrated activities.
  6. To maintain documentation, reports, and records of all extra-curricular events for IQAC and NAAC purposes.

Roles & Responsibilities

Committee Responsibilities

  • Organizing annual cultural events & competitions.
  • Conducting literary events such as debates, elocution, essay writing, poetry recitation, and quiz competitions.
  • Facilitating fine arts programmes such as painting, poster-making, craft, and creative arts competitions.
  • Observing National & International Days and commemorating social reformers’ birth and death anniversaries.
  • Coordinating and monitoring student participation in inter-college competitions.
  • Ensuring discipline, inclusivity, and smooth execution of all events.

Responsibilities of Committee Members:

  • Chairperson/Convenor: Overall supervision, approval of events, coordination with principal and IQAC.
  • Co-Convenor: Assists convenor, manages event flow and logistics.
  • Committee Members: Plan and conduct events, maintain attendance, evaluate performances, and prepare reports.
  • Student Representatives: Assist in organizing events and motivate peers to participate.

The Extra-curricular Programme Committee plays a significant role in shaping well-rounded, confident, and culturally aware students. Through dedicated efforts and structured functioning, the committee enhances the institutional environment and contributes to the quality initiatives of NAAC and IQAC, ensuring that C.P. & Berar E.S. College remains a vibrant center for student development.
