National Cadet Corps (NCC)

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is the youth wing of the Indian Armed Forces. Headquartered in New Delhi, it operates as a Tri-Services Organization, comprising the Army, Navy, and Air Force. Open to school and college students on a voluntary basis, the NCC plays a vital role in nation-building, instilling discipline, and fostering unity. Established under the NCC Act XXXI, 1948, the NCC operates under the Ministry of Defence. Today, it boasts over 16 lakh cadets and continues to significantly contribute to youth development and national service. “Shape Your Future, Serve the Nation”

NCC Motto: “Unity and Discipline”

The motto of the NCC, “Unity and Discipline,” reflects its core values and objectives. Selected during the 12th Central Advisory Committee meeting in 1980, it emphasizes the importance of teamwork, harmony, and dedication to duty. “Discipline Makes Us Stronger; Unity Makes Us Invincible”

Aims and Objectives

The NCC aims to:

  • Develop character, discipline, comradeship, and a spirit of adventure among youth.
  • Instill a secular outlook and the ideals of selfless service.
  • Create a pool of organized, motivated, and trained leaders who can serve the nation in all walks of life.
  • Encourage cadets to join the armed forces and contribute to national defense.
