Department Commerce  was started in the year 1960 and has a legacy of more than 60 years. It boasts of eminent academicians of high acclaim. The department is known for it’s focus on research and student centric activities.

In the year 1974, Post Graduate programme –  Masters of Commerce was started on grant basis. This was highly creditable as even today Very few colleges affiliated to R.T.M.Nagour University offer a granted Masters Programme in Commerce on grant basis.

In the year 1996 MBA programme started. This was an early move identifying the futuristic education patterns. Programme of  M. Com Professional was launched and Commerce department achieved another milestone. The department made its mark in the field of Research after initiating ‘Place for Higher Learning and Research’ in year 2014. Research Methodology workshops regularly conducted by this department are popular across the country and have participation from longitude and latitudes of the country.
A peer reviewed journal –  ‘Sanshodhan’ is being published consistently  for last 12 years. It has Google index accreditation.
A student research journal – ‘Inspire’ is also published annually.

Student centric activities like Faculty Exchange Program, Student Exchange Program, CPBFI Certificate Courses in association with Bajaj finance co.,  Student Seminars, Entrepreneurship Development Programs, IPR Seminars, Workshops, Skill Development Programs are regularly conducted.
